Customer Questions
Q/ Can I drive a Motorhome on my normal driving licence?
A/ Yes! All of our vehicles can be driven on a normal UK manual driving licence (but not if you only hold an automatic licence).
Q/ What time can I collect the motorhome?
A/ We will be in touch approx 1 week before your hire and give you an indication of collection time but it’s usually between 1pm & 3pm (unless you have an early collection booked).
Q/ What time do we have to return the motorhome?
A/ We require the motorhome to be returned and available for us to deep clean for the next customer at 11am. When returning please leave yourself plenty of time to unload the vehicle and fuel the vehicle back up. Ideally aim to be back approx 10:30am, you can fuel up at the petrol station on site then unload your belongings into your car etc, before returning the keys for 11am.
Q/ We have never hired a motorhome before can you give us some recommendations?
A/ Approx 90% of our customers have never hired a motorhome before, we will look after you from start to finish. We would always recommend staying at campsites for a minimum of 2 nights , this gives you plenty of time to explore the area you are staying in. If you book into a different site each night you will feel you are constantly on the move i.e. you check into a site around 2pm, you get the vehicle sorted on your pitch and probably start heading out to explore your surroundings around 3pm, the bummer is you have to start packing up again the next morning at 10am as you have to be offsite at 11am.
Q/ Do we need to bring anything with us etc?
A/ The only things you will require are your clothes, bedding/pillows etc unless you have booked a bedding package with us. If you are travelling with kids we would recommend they use sleeping bags as it is much easier. We believe there is nothing else required as the motorhomes are fully equipped.
Q/ I’m a bit concerned about the size of the Motorhome when it comes to driving?
A/ Our Motorhomes range from 5.9m (for the 590) to 7.4m (for the 746, 740 & zefiro 696) if you’re not sure about the larger vehicle why not hire our Rollerteam T-Line 590? It’s only around 1m longer than your average car! It’s a 4 berth and very luxurious. We are more than happy to let you see the larger motorhomes though, give you some guidance and put your mind at ease, please just ask us.
Q/ Will we be shown how to operate the motorhome?
A/ Absolutely! we used to give customers a tour of each vehicle which could take approx 1 hour on day of collection but due to covid etc we have now made videos. Approx 1 to 3 weeks before your hire we send out a 25 minute video how to work the basics & on the day we ask you to watch a more in depth 25 min video at our premises. We also provide an ipad with the vehicle just in case you need a refreshing of various videos on how to operate the motorhome. The videos have worked fantastic as we felt some customers couldn’t take all the info on board but you can now watch the videos as many times as you require. But please remember you can always ask us on the day if your not sure about anything. (VW Camper van customers will be given the full video on how to work approx 1 to 3 weeks before collection & no need to watch a video on site)
Q/ Are there any campsites you would recommend?
A/ Sunnyside Croft Touring & Camping Site in Arisaig, its a cracking wee site right next to the beach. Ian and Julie will look after you there. Milton Of Fonab Caravan Park, Pitlochry, this campsite is absolutely spotless and in a great location, ideal for your last night as its only around 1hr 20mins back to Larbert. Caolasnacon Caravan & Camping Park, between Glencoe & Kinlochleven, another great wee find right on the waters edge and surrounded by mountains.2 other campsites closer to home & ideal for your last evening before returning your vehicle are Witches Craig & the Blair Drummond Caravan park (kids play park in the middle).
Q/ Can we park our car at the motorhome collection point?
A/ Yes, we have spaces on site. The electric gates are locked in the evening & there are also 10 cameras on site for security. Vehicles are parked at owners own risk.
Q/ Do we need to leave a deposit when we collect the motorhome?
A/ As with major hotels we require to take a hold of £500 (other hire companies can be £2000) on a bank/credit card etc. This is to cover any damage to vehicle whilst on hire & also gives a further confirmation of your identity to our insurance company. The £500 doesn’t come out your Acc, it will come up pending on your bank statement but will drop off after 7 to 10 days & you will gain access to it again.
Q/ Are the motorhomes pet friendly?
A/ Yes! we are happy having small/medium size dog or 2 small dogs. There is a small extra deep clean charge that varies depending on the vehicle you choose.
